One year anniversary of Georgia texting law

A year after Georgia's law banning texting while driving went into effect. Police admit there's not much they can do to enforce the law. Police say the law has raised awareness about the dangers of texting and driving.

It's difficult for them to know for sure if someone is texting behind the wheel. But if a suspected texter crashes and they will do all they can to prove it.

"We do have incidents sometimes where we do have wrecks where injuries are death-involved, we can actually pull someone's cell phone records and tell whether they were texting by their cell phone records", says Dougherty County Police Captain Tom Jackson.

Officers say texting while driving is just as dangerous as drinking and driving.
