Lakeland police say a convicted murderer was driving around with a stolen gun.
This is the smith and wesson found in the chevy pick up Jimmy Lee Ryan was driving. Lakeland Police stopped him June 18th for a tag light that wasn't working.
As officers questioned Ryan, he admitted he had a gun in the driver's side door. Turns out that gun was stolen five years ago in Douglas.
Ryan served time for a Lanier County murder that happened more than 30-years ago.
He's now charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
