Monroe's Land heads to France

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WALB) -  Monroe's Mimieux Land will compete in a second event at the Worth Youth Track and Field championships next week in France.

Mimieux Land placed second in the high jump at the USA trials in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this morning.

Land finished second to Morgan Taylor on a tiebreaker.

Taylor cleared five feet seven inches on her first attempt while Land made the height on her second attempt.

Neither could clear the next height.

Mimieux Land also finished second in the long jump however she finished tenth in the triple jump.

The top two finishers in each event qualify for the world track meet in France provided their times or distances meet qualifying standings.

Mimieux Land's distances are qualified for the world meet.
