Never before has the city of Albany hosted a pro football championship game but all that will change this weekend when the Panthers will host the Louisiana Swashbucklers for SIFL championship. This after Louisiana beat Houston for the Western Conference title. Tickets are the lowest they've been all season, just 10 bucks gets you in the door to witness history in the making.
It was this same Louisiana team that kicked the Panthers out of the playoffs last season. Albany did get a little revenge back in week 1 beating the Swashbucklers by 3. Over 3,000 tickets were sold as of Tuesday night.
Panthers GM Will Carter said "I expect Albany and the surrounding counties to come out in full force and support us. I want this arena filled. 8,000 fans are what I want to see. I expect a packed house man. We made tickets, $10, $10! We're excited, a championship game in Albany man. Words can't even express what I'm feeling right now."
Carter went on to say while tickets are only $10, they are for reserved seats. So first come, first serve on the best seats in the house.
