Some south Georgia political activists hope you'll register to vote as you celebrate the Fourth of July.
Friends of Democrats will hold a voter registration drive July fourth in downtown Albany. They'll set up at Ray Charles Plaza and they encourage anyone who isn't registered to vote to stop by on their way to the fireworks.
"We needs as many people registered to vote as possible that's the way the democratic system works. We don't want the minority making the decisions for the majority, it needs to be the majority making the decisions," Allen York of Friends of Democrats.
Group leaders say it only takes a few minutes to fill out the forms. They also plan to serve free lemonade to those who stop by.
