Hundreds of South Georgia job hunters have a better chance of finding work after a job fair today.

WALB hosted an employment and volunteer expo at the Albany Museum of Art.

More than 150 job seekers showed up in the first 30 minutes.

Employers from around the state in fields such as retail, government and health care were there including Allied Health Professions.

One recruiter is optimistic Southwest Georgia's economy is turning around.

"I feel hopeful for the job community. I feel they will be able to find jobs and boost our economy. I'm very excited about the turnout and hopefully we can help them," said Recruiter Carolyn Brown.

517 job hunters showed up today.  Some were lucky enough to set up interviews as soon as tomorrow.
