Gone to soon, those were the words used to describe the passing of former Darton soccer player Sha Wetherington who died last week in a single car crash. The 22 year lost control of her car on Wednesday in Brooks County and struck a tree. This after just graduating from Georgia Southern this spring.
Wetherington was the team captain leading the Lady Cavs to the 2007 region championship. Her former coach says it was a terrible end to what was such a promising future.
"Someone at her age with such a great future in front of her, she just finished college and in the process of a career move and starting her career. As a person she was a class act. She was a great girl, she was fun, happy and a very good student. Yet, she was an all around person. Everything in front of her and it just tragically ends so quickly."
