Albany native Deion Branch says this is one of his favorite times of the year. The now New England Patriot wide out hosted his 6th annual youth football camp at Albany State on Saturday. The former Monroe Tornado and several other professional athletes from the area instructed hundreds of kids on the basics of the game as well as the importance of team work and education.
The camp was the culmination of Branch's visit back home after 3 days of other events all about giving back to the community
Branch said "Biggest thing is making sure you're doing what your parents ask you to do, this is what we really try to deliver to the kids outside of having fun and teaching them how to play the game of football. I'm excited, I'm honored. I'm so excited to be out here with these kids."
Bill Chun said "Usually other players usually don't come back and do camps for the young children but he's very important to me and he really did this for the children and I'm really proud of him"
