City Attorney Nathan Davis sent the letter Friday to the owners of the old Heritage House Hotel after City Commissioners voted to require them to bring the property into compliance with the city's boarding ordinance.
Albany Police Officers have been warned to check the perimeter of the building but not to enter it.
Two gang unit officers who entered the building Wednesday had to be decontaminated.
APD's spokesperson couldn't tell us what was in the building that led to that precautionary decontamination procedure.
The owners are expected in court August third to appeal a judge's order that they tear down the building.
