BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -

Daniel Barnard Jr. is under arrest and being held in the Miller County jail after the Pataula Drug Task Force conducted an undercover operation and uncovered an underground drug trailer.

Agents say Barnard set up a grow operation under land on his horse and cattle farm.

"It's actually, what we believe, a semi truck buried under the ground (the trailer) with a secretive hatch that was operated with a key that would open up on its own," said Special Agent Mark Pro.

Agents seized 45 marijuana plants, synthetic marijuana, illegal pills, cash and firearms.

Agents say Barnard was selling the synthetic marijuana right over the counter at his convenience store called Super B.

Synthetic marijuana is starting to become popular among teens across the country.

"What they are trying to do is replicate THC. Which is the chemical in marijuana that gives you the high and what they are doing is synthetic producing THC. It's a few molecules off the chemical chain, but it's essentially the same thing," said Pro.

Barnard's partner Tish Fowler was also arrested for selling synthetic marijuana.  She is being held in the Decatur County Jail.

Agent Pro thanks all of the departments who lent a hand in bringing down this drug ring. He says the operation could not have been a success without their cooperation.
