A little boy drowned in a private pond Thursday night. Officials initially told us the boy was five, but now they've identified him as 9-year old Jacob Peters.

Peters was swimming with several friends near Old Mill Road not far from his home when he went under.

Emergency crews from Dawson and Terrell County and a dive team from Lee County rushed to the scene around 8:30 p.m. They found Jacob's body about an hour later.

Authorities tell us there were no adults with the children at the time.
