THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - The Thomas University athletic program is looking to expand in the next few years.
The first move for the Night Hawks is to add junior varsity teams for baseball and men's soccer.
Athletic director and head baseball coach Mike Lee believes adding the junior varsity programs will not only boost the varsity programs for both sports.
It will also help recruiting in the south Georgia area when athletes see they have the chance to play right away.
Mike Lee said. "There is not a lot of baseball programs. There is two or three in southwest Georgia. That is it. a lot of kids graduate still want to play but they just don't have that opportunity and we think we can help them with that."
Mike Lee says Thomas University is exploring further expansion of their athletic program in their future.
