BARWICK, GA (WALB) - A Barwick man remains behind bars Tuesday for slicing his neighbor across the chest. Police say 30 year old Terrance Akery cut 21 year old Courtney Davis during an argument involving money. A large crowd had to be dispersed before paramedics could reach the victim.

The weapon Akery used has not been recovered, but witnesses say it was either a box cutter or broken bottle.  "Yea there were several witnesses around. Some willing to talk with law enforcement, some not willing to talk with law enforcement. But quite a few witnesses and Akery told investigators, yea he cut him," said Thomas County Sheriff's Captain Steve Jones.

Davis is out of the hospital. Akery is charged with aggravated assault.
