64-year-old Virginia Sims is charged with the murder of her six-year-old granddaughter Alexis Walker.
Her grandparents were her legal guardians.
Investigators say Sims drove into a man's driveway on Moye road around 7:00PM, and said she killed her grand baby.
That man called 911 and told police what happened. Deputies and Investigators found Walker lying lifeless in the pond at the 1700 block of Moye Road.
After trying CPR several times she was pronounced dead on the scene. An autopsy later on Tuesday will reveal the exact cause of death.
