Panthers get another shot at Lions

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  Every team is happy to be playing for a conference championship.The two teams will be for a fourth and final time this season with the winner advancing to the SIFL league title game.

The Albany Panthers are happy to get another crack at rival Columbus.

The Lions have won the last two meetings and with it have earned the right to host the conference championship game.

After their last loss in Columbus three weeks ago, the Panthers are looking forward to another shot the defending league champs.


Defensive back Demetrie McCray said. "It feels real good to go back and go against them simply because in our last two times we played them we didn't have a good game."

Head coach Lucious Davis said. "To play them again I think we are just excited to be playing again and not going home."

Albany Panthers play at Columbus Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the SIFL playoffs.
