A 16-year old South Georgia girl is sentenced to 14-years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the stabbing death of a 12-year old boy.
Ladrona Hamilton entered the guilty plea today to avoid a murder trial that could have put her behind bars for life.
Hamilton was 14 back in June 2009 when prosecutors say she stabbed Shawn Williams in the heart with a kitchen knife after the two argued.
Hamilton sobbed as she told Williams' family she was trying to protect herself and was very sorry she killed their son.
Williams' mother and step-father said they think Hamilton should have been sentenced to life in prison.
