Atlanta - The Georgia Association of Broadcasters has once again named WALB-TV the Station of the Year. It's the 5th time the station has picked up the award in the last six years.

At a banquet Saturday night, WALB was also honored as Community Service Station of the Year for the 7th consecutive year.

WALB News 10 picked up the Best Newscast GABBY for "Election Night Coverage."

Dawn Hobby and Scott Childs received the GABBY for Best News Story, for "Civil Air Patrol-Oil Crisis," which they shot during the Gulf oil spill.

WALB also received two Merit Awards from the GAB for Best Station Produced Commercial – "Factor Fitness Factor X-3," and Best Station Produced PSA/Station ID/Promotional Piece – "Night Stalkers."

The Georgia National Guard chose WALB for its "Minute Man" award for Outstanding Public Service.
