Three people are in jail after Albany Dougherty Drug Unit agents raided a couple of homes Friday afternoon.

They found crack cocaine, marijuana, and lots of pain pills. WALB News Ten's Tayleigh Davis there as police took one suspect away in handcuffs.

Albany Doughier Drug agents arrested Andre Smith, 35 of Tallahassee Florida for drug trafficking and possession after they found pain pills, crack cocaine, marijuana, and money hidden inside this home at 516 West Residence Avenue. One neighbor who didn't want to go on camera isn't happy about it.

"It feels bad to know what's going on. You can't stop it though."

Drug agents found five ounces of crack cocaine.

"Some of it's already chopped up to sell," said A.D.D.U Commander, Major Bill Berry.

They also seized 400 pain pills, marijuana, more than $1,400 and ammunition in the home. Most of the drugs were stuffed in clothing, shoe boxes, and shoes in a closet.  Major Berry says this was a shot house. People would walk up or drive up and buy different drugs from the side of the home.

"Different counter levels have different drugs," said Major Berry.

He says they were selling various pain pills including Oxycodone. Berry says prescription drug abuse is growing in Albany. Pain killers are the most abused prescription drugs in America according to Prescriptiondrugabuse.org.

Not too long after, they arrested and charged Rita Starling and Jontavious Mitchell with possession and distribution of crack cocaine and marijuana at 813 McIntosh road apartment B.

As agents continue to crack down on drug dealers, people look forward to seeing their neighborhoods become safer places to live.

Some of those drugs were in factory made bottles that only get shipped to pharmacies. Agents are trying to investigate how they got in the hands of a suspected drug dealer.
