CAIRO, GA (WALB) - Money is tight for many south Georgians, so getting your pets vaccinated may not be a top priority. But with the number of rabies cases on the rise, the Grady County Heath Department says it should be.
Cairo Animal Hospital and Animal Medical Center teamed up with the Health department to offer discounted rabies vaccinations. On June 25th, folks can bring their cats and dogs to the Grady County Livestock Pavilion. "We're also discussing doing this maybe later in the fall. Maybe do two a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. If this one is successful," said Environmental Heath Technician Clarcia Avery.
The vaccines will be administered from 8-11:00 AM for $13 a shot, cash only. Licensed veterinarians, volunteers, and Spanish interpreters will be on site.
