PAVO, GA (WALB) - Some kids spend their summer at camp and others go on family vacations. But the only thing the Thomas County 4-H Horse Show team wants to do, is ride.

Wednesday the eight-member team heads to Perry to compete against more than 400 youths at the 2011 State 4-H Horse Show. The young equestrians will be competing for rosettes and medallions in their individual classes.

And this Thomas County team does not lack experience. "This is my ninth year at the State 4-H Horse Show, but I've been showing since I can remember," says rider Sunnie Dee Wynn.

Along with the riding portion, each participant must also take a written test. Top winners will be invited to compete in the 2011 Southern Regional Championship Horse Show next month. For more information on the Thomas County 4-H Horse Program, contact Cindy Wynn at 229-225-4130.
