MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Colquitt County schools could once again have a shortened school year to save money, but not as short as last school year.

Superintendent Leonard McCoy says the new budget calls for spending nearly 66 million dollars for the upcoming school year.

That's down 1.2 percent.

The budget covers a 177-day school year.

That's below the typical 180-days, but it's three more days than were funded for the current year.
