A Ford Ranger was struck by a semi-truck about 10:00AM Tuesday at the intersection of Gillionville Road and Byron Plantation Road.

Authorities say that Brandon Eason of Albany failed to yield at the stop at Byron Plantation Road, and was struck by an 18-wheeler carrying equipment for Oxford Construction Company.

Oxford is doing work on a construction project in the area.

The west-bound semi was driven by Steve Gilchrist, 59, of Leesburg.

Eason was taken to Phoebe Putney to be examined.

Gilchrist was uninjured. The road was closed, but is now reopened.
