ADEL, GA (WALB) – Severe weather ripped through south Georgia Monday night causing major damage in parts of Cook County.

We're told three mobile homes were destroyed on County Farm Road in Adel after falling trees crushed the homes.

At least two people suffered minor injuries..

A vacant doctor's office building that went up in flames is also being blamed on the storm. It caught fire on North Parrish Street in Adel.

It's believed lightning hit the building. Several fire crews were called in to get the blaze under control.

Trees and power lines are also down in the area and the county's 911 tower was also damaged.
