COLQUITT, GA (WALB) - The search continues for a gunman who shot and killed a Colquitt store clerk during an armed robbery over the weekend. GBI agents say they do have a few leads, but so far they don't have any suspects.

GBI Special Agent Steve Turner says 55 year old Rameshby Daragee was just minutes from going home. "Mr. Daragee was maybe getting ready, getting his money up, and getting ready to close the store when the actual armed robbery occurred."

But a little after midnight, a gunman entered the Food Mart demanding money. GBI agents are still looking through surveillance footage, but they believe the clerk was shot after handing over some cash. The masked gunman then fled the scene.

Daragee died yesterday at the Southwest Medical Center in Alabama. "It's just tragic the way that it happened to my boss man and like I said it's just a great loss to the community and Raj we gunna miss you. We love you from the daily workers at Food Mart," says Food Mart Cook Dasheila Johnson.

Many customers told me the Food Mart is one of the main shops in town. They all knew Daragee and only had nice things to say about him. "He was pretty much just all about business you know. Come in, he want to get you in and get you out," said Food Mart Customer Travis Bryant.

One of Daragee's coworkers says she's still shocked it happened. "He had a good spirit and a good heart."

I spoke with other employees and customers off camera and they all had the same message. Rameshby Daragee will be greatly missed in Miller County. If you have any information about the murder, you're asked to call the GBI officer in Thomasville or the Colquitt Police Department.
