Lots of kids will enjoy vacation bible school at churches throughout South Georgia this summer.

One of the biggest is at Sherwood Christian Academy.

The school is hosting about 500 children this week.

There will be small group bible studies and fun activities such as fishing and horseback riding.

Camp coordinator David Joyner says they're reaching out to children from the neighborhood around Gillespie Avenue, but kids from all over are invited.

The camp is free... saving parents daycare fees.

"This VBS is a free VBS. It's a free camp, we're not charging anybody. There's no money exchanging hands. Our church folks are paying for it out of our church budget, so it's not a money maker at all," Joyner

Although the camp is at capacity, Joyner says spots may open up.

Interested parents should call the school for more information.
