
All signs now point to the Albany Panthers having to go on the road in the 2nd round of the SIFL playoffs after losing to the Columbus Lions 58-39. This was the 3 meeting between the Southern Division rivals. The Lions have now taken 2 of 3 from the Panthers who are now 9-2 on the season. With the with win, the Lions (10-1) clinched a Southern Division title.
The Panthers led 13-3 early on but the Lions quickly turned things around and took a 39-19 lead into the locker room at half time. Albany made a late push in the 4th quarter but was unable to regain the lead. The Panthers will host the Alabama Hammers in its last regular season game next Saturday at the Civic Center.
