The Lee County Sheriff's Department is now working with the Albany Crime stoppers. The Lee County Sheriff's Department asked to join the Albany Crime-stoppers program. The Sheriff's Department believes it will be a helpful tool in closing some cases.
Albany City Commissioners will hold a special closed door meeting Friday. We believe they'll discuss the criminal case against the Municipal Court Judge.
Albany Mayor Willie Adams asked for the meeting.
Last week, 53-year-old Judge Willie Weaver was charged with aggravated assault. He posted a $10,000 bond. Weaver is accused of hitting his wife in the face with a beer bottle.
He isn't a city employee but is appointed by the city commission, who could vote to suspend or remove him.
