A man accused of shooting and killing his neighbor Tuesday night in Lowndes County is caught in Florida.

30-year old Lucas Alvarado Santiago argued with his neighbor at the Mar-Mel-Go Apartments around 9:15 Tuesday night.

Investigators say Santiago left the apartment, got a semi automatic handgun, walked back and shot the victim in the head and Neck.

Santiago drove away and ran into a girl who was walking down Rolling Pine Drive.

She wasn't seriously hurt.

12-year old Sara Mendez lives right above the apartment where the shooting happened.

"I was in my room and all the sudden I heard like five shots and I thought they were firecrackers and I looked out my window someone went out pretty fast in a truck," said Mendez.

Santiago was caught in High Springs, Florida where he went to meet his wife.

The Florida arrest report identifies the victim as 40-year old Julio Garcia.

Santiago is charged with first degree murder.
