AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

Edison police Chief Jason Wilkins has been arrested and is now in the Sumter County jail. He was taken to Americus by Webster County authorities, who booked him on numerous charges.

Sumter Co. Sheriff Pete Smith says that Wilkins is charged with:

  • False imprisonment
  • Simple battery/family violence
  • Theft by Taking
  • Criminal Damage to property
  • Aggravated stalking
  • Criminal Trespass

He was booked into the Sumter County jail about 11:00 Wednesday morning.
