As his trial was underway, 27-year-old Clifford Thomas stopped the proceedings with a guilty plea.
He pled guilty to seven counts of burglary, admitting that between August and October of 2007, he used a sledge hammer to break the walls of seven stores in the Albany area.
The sentence was ten years to serve, thirty years of probation. he can also have no contact with the victims in the case.
All the conditions are special- which means that if Thomas violates any of the conditions of his probation, then his entire probation gets revoked.
He and an accomplice, Richard Taylor, then stole merchandise from the stores.
Taylor has already been convicted, and is serving a five-year sentence.
