There is a fire at Ohio Mulch on Highway 84 in Clinch County.

About 5:20 this morning, firefighters were called out to the mulch facility.

It was quickly apparent that the fire was so large that firemen needed backup.

About 40 firefighters from Lanier, Berrien, and Atkinson Counties joined the Clinch County firefighters.

Units from the Georgia Forestry Commission are also battling the blaze.

Several mulch piles and timber are burning. This area of Georgia has seen very little rainfall in the last several weeks, adding to the combustibility of the fuel.
