Traffic is picking up on I-75 as the Memorial Day weekend draws to a close.

Christopher Dockett is headed back home to Miami.

He and some friends stopped at the Shell Station this afternoon.

Travelers who stopped in Valdosta paid between 3.54 and 3.56 for gasoline near the interstate.

Dockett says he's learned from experience to get an early start.

"We went to Tifton Georgia and visited with some family friends and had a good time now we're just trying to get back safely," said Dockett.

Dockett says he's trying to stay safe on the highways and wants other motorists to slow down and take their time.
