If you plan to grill out over Memorial Day weekend, Albany Firefighters want you to use extra caution to prevent grass fires.

Firefighters say they know this weekend is one of the biggest of the year for cookouts. They're asking cooks to stay with their grills to make sure they don't spark a fire.

"Right now as dry as it is, it's going to be very, very easy to start up grass fires. And with the wind, it's going to be moving quickly. So you need to pay attention to it," said Albany Fire Department Deputy Chief Ron Rowe.

Firefighters suggest that while you are grilling out this holiday weekend, you keep a bucket of sand or water close by in case a spark sets off a grass fire.
