A Louisiana jury convicts a man of robbing and killing a Valdosta man there.

Jurors in Baton Rouge found 22-year-old Antonius Londre Jones guilty of second-degree murder and armed robbery.

54-year-old David Merseeman was the only customer inside a Baton Rouge Waffle House on May 3rd of last year.

He was shot as he tried to grab the gun from Jones.

Jones will be formally sentenced July 14th, but the conviction carries a mandatory life sentence.

Larry Sterling and Ikey Washington are awaiting trial on armed robbery charges.

Armed robbery is punishable by up to 99 years in prison.
