More than a year after an Americus man visited Haiti to build houses for earthquake victims,  he's headed back, and he needs southwest Georgia' support.

Jacob Battle hopes to build 10 more houses in Ballanton, Haiti - not too far from Port-au-Prince.

Each house will cost $4,000 to build. They're 16 by 16 feet concrete structures. Right now, many people are living in tents or houses made of scrap metal. He plans to head to Haiti June 12th.

"I promised them I would come back and build them a house," said Battle. These people are so poor, they don't have running water or anything so they can't pay for their house either."

Battle is collecting funds through Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus. If you'd like to donate to Jacob's project, you can mail checks to: Calvary Episcopal Church, 408 South Lee St.,31709. Make them payable to: Rector's Discretionary Fund at Calvary Episcopal Church. Include in the notation line: "Haiti Build." You can also call the church at (229) 924-3908.
