Albany Police Gang Unit officers say getting guns off Albany streets this summer is one of their main goals.
Gang Unit officers say instead of keeping weapons at their home, some gang members are now borrowing or renting guns from others when they plan to use them.
Gang unit officers say they are trying to get those guns off the streets.
Albany Police Gang Investigator Roosevelt Kearney said "We're trying to find the man, the person who is holding these weapons. The main person who has access to those weapons. We're trying to find them, so we are going to be heavy on search warrants this summer."
The Gang unit says so far they have recovered four guns and made 14 arrests, including four on gang charges.
