A Lakeland man has died after he was shot Wednesday night.

Neighbors say a man walked up to 35 East Talley Avenue, asked for a cigarette, then pulled out a gun and shot 40-year old Bernard Williams.

He was taken to South Gerogia Medical Center then to Shands in Gainesville where he died.

"Police told me it wasn't looking good," said Andrie Flindroyal, the victim's family member.

"The only thing I could tell is that it seemed really personal," said Lakeland Police Det. Henry First. "I don't have any indication that it had anything to do with drugs or not."

GBI agents interviewed witnesses but say they don't have any suspects right now.
