An Albany motorcycle rider died following an accident in which he skidded across South Slappey Boulevard about 11:00 Thursday morning.

Albany Police say he was headed east on Centennial Driver, failed to stop at the stop sign at Slappey, lost control of the Honda, and skidded about 195 feet across the asphalt.

He landed in the front yard of the Babies Can't Wait Center, across Slappey from the stop sign at Centennial Street, on which he was riding.

Albany Police identified the victim as 31 year old David Wright of Leesburg.
