Sumter County deputies made an unusual discovery over the weekend.

On Saturday the Sumter County Sheriff's Office received a call from someone who said that there was a vehicle in the creek on Pool Gin House Road.

They went to investigate, and indeed, found a car upside down in the creek.

They called for help to get the vehicle out of  the water, and then discovered that it had been stolen in Americus on August 10, 2010.

The vehicle was impounded and the Americus Police Department is handling the case.
