Fun-filled weekend in Downtown Albany

If you were in the house this Saturday you missed out on a packed and exciting day.The All American Lumberjack show was chock full of events and happenings, with chainsaw carvings, ax throwing, and log rolling there was much to see.

The group traveled all the way from Minnesota to show their strength and skill. With an Antique Car show and plenty of kiddie attractions anyone from any age group could enjoy themselves.

But one highlight of the show is the crowd participation. Kids and adults got the opportunity to Log roll in their 10000 gallon tank. Coins were thrown at the bottom of the tank for a scavenger hunt.

Aaron Blair Says"Well this type of event is very important for us we're trying to attract families back into downtown and this provides an atmosphere for these families to come around and enjoy something they may not otherwise get a chance to see."

"Albany's a big melting pot basically downtown is a big melting pot that's why we have events like this we try to create a place where anyone can come downtown and enjoy what downtown has to offer."

After the sawdust cleared, the group moved on to see Movies in the Park…Chairs towels, and tents lined Riverfront park…Music filled the air as the Albany Marine Band play songs as some danced the night away…Families gathered to view the popular 80's film the "Goonies" and spend quality time together…

Jessica Norman enjoyed the quality time, "Just hanging out with my family we seen lots of friends come out today there's been a lot of different people so I would just like to see more activities like this one."

This event is free and open to the public and the next presentation of movies in the park will be June 4,2011.
