Hamilton leads Mid-Amateur

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The afternoon was the best time to play the first round of the Georgia State Golf Association Mid-Amateur.

15 of the top 16 scores were all from the afternoon groups with Greg Hamilton leading at -3.

Mark Strickland and Dave Poteet are one shot back.

Jared Purvis and Albany's Bill Sharpe are three shots back of the lead and Thomasville's Bill Hodges is +1.

The second round is Saturday at Kinderlou Forest and after the cut the final round is Sunday.
