ODESSA, TX (WALB) - The Darton College golf team will have to play catch up in the final three rounds of the NJCAA Division I golf tournament.
The Cavaliers shot a 13-over par 301 and are tied for 13th place after the 1st round.
McLennan CC and Central Alabama CC are tied for the lead at -2 and Indian Hills is one shot back in second.
Darton freshman Joe Sakulpolphaisan led Darton with a 71 and he is tied for 6th the individual category.
Darton also counted a 76 from Austin McNeill and a pair of 77's from Shad Tuten and Spenser Ferrell.
Sophomore Taylor Welborn shot a 79.
The second round is Wednesday in Odessa, Texas.
