Missed chances and a slew of penalties ultimately costs the Panthers its 8th victory as the team fell to Columbus 60-56 Saturday night at the Civic Center. Albany jumped out to a 13-3 lead in the first quarter but went into the locker room down 37-30 at half time. The game was temporarily stopped for several minutes after Panthers' DB LaVAnce Richmond lied motionless on the turf moments following a tackle. Richmond would eventually walk off the field with assistance but didn't return due to a concussion.
The second half yielded several scores for both teams but in the end Albany came up short, 60-56 was the final. The Panthers are now 7-1 on the year while the Lions improved to 8-1. Albany will head on the road to Alabama to face the Hammers next week
