ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Darton College golf team has dominated the Division II National Junior College level for the last six years.
The Cavs have won three national titles and finished second twice during that span.
Darton coach Dale Dover is ready to see how his teams fare against the big boys.
The Cavaliers have moved up to the division one level this year and tee off in the national tournament next week in Odessa Texas.
Coach Dover says he was questioned about the move to the Division I level but his team showed they were worthy by winning their first district title.
Darton also won a tenth straight state title that same week.
The rested Cavs are ready to get back on the course.
Sophomore Taylor Wellborn said. "We were all tired and drained. We kind of feel we were dragging. Letting it slide. I think that is going to help us. We are going to be a lot more mentally tough these four days at nationals."
The NJCAA DI golf tournament starts Tuesday in Odessa, Texas.
