Detective John Olsen of the Lanier County Sheriff's Office issued this news release Thursday morning:
On 10 May 2011, Marquis Knight, age 31, currently residing in Ray City, Georgia was arrested and charged with Statutory Rape.
Deputies with the Lanier County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of possible sexual misconduct between Knight and a 15 year old female.
Investigation into the allegation led to the arrest of Knight for an incident which occurred late last year in Lakeland, Georgia.
As this incident is still under investigation, no further information is available at this time.
