IRON CITY, GA (WALB) – Investigators recovered a gun they think was used in a Saturday afternoon triple murder in Seminole County.

Sheriff's investigators say Larry Easterwood dumped the gun after he shot his ex-girlfriend and another couple outside Iron City Convenience Store.

Officials wouldn't say what type of gun they found, but it was sent to the crime lab for testing.

A dive team searched a pond for the weapon, but we're told it was not found in the water.

Easterwood had been out of prison a little over a year after serving time for a 1993 conviction on federal weapons charges.
