Lady Tornadoes are going for three-peat

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The GHSA girls state track meet starts Thursday at Hugh Mills Stadium.

The Monroe Lady Tornadoes are looking for a three peat for a second time in school history.

The Monroe girls have won the last two AAA team titles.

With 13 members qualified for the state meet, the Lady Tornadoes will be a contender to win their third title.

After a convincing win in the region meet last week, head coach LaToya Johnson says the ladies need to stick to what got them here in order to be successful.

LaToya Johnson said. "Because its coming up to state championships they may want to change to their old habits. This is not the time to change, this is time to take what you have and keep moving forward."

Mimeux Land said.  "Now we need to get together. We need to sit. We need to talk. We need to focus on what we need to do. Other things need to be out of the way. We need to come in, get the job done so we can win state."

The GHSA girls state track meet ends Saturday at Hugh Mills Stadium.
