ATHENS, GA (WALB) - Georgia running back Washaun Ealey has let it be known he is not happy with the possibility that incoming freshman running back Isaiah Crowell could be the Bulldogs starter this season.
Ealey though is not going to wait and see if he can beat out Crowell for the starting job.
Head coach Mark Richt has granted Washaun Ealey an unconditional release to transfer to another school.
In a statement, Coach Richt says after several conversations he and Ealey have come to the conclusion a transfer is in Ealey's best interest.
Ealey was Georgia's leading rusher last year despite missing a game due to suspension.
Ealey was also suspended during spring practice this year.
His transfer leaves Georgia with Crowell, senior Caleb King. Carlton Thomas and redshirt freshman Kendall Malcome at tailback this season.
