ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The high school football season starts in just about three months.
The work to be ready in the fall is starting in the spring.
The Deerfield-Windsor Knights are among many south Georgia schools that are holding their two weeks of spring drills.
The bad news for the rest of the GISA is the Knights return a large number key players from last year's undefeated state championship team.
One of the strengths of last year's team was their depth on both lines of scrimmage.
That depth will help the Knights will any holes up front this fall.
Head coach Allen Lowe said. "We feel like our line of scrimmage ought to be a real strength for us. We still have to go out and work. Get better because last year we had some things we need to do a little bit better. We are hoping to improve upon on it."
The Deerfield-Windsor spring game is Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Webb Stadium.
