ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The high school baseball state playoffs start Friday in the Georgia High School and Georgia Independent Associations.
Region 1-AAAA champ Lee County will open at home against Jones County.
These two teams have had some great meetings in the playoffs over the last two decades but never really this early in the tournament.
Head coach Rob Williams knows the Greyhounds maybe a four seed from their region but their coaches and players are all playoff tested just like the Trojans.
Rob Williams said. "When you play Jones County, you know you are going to play a quality baseball team. They are accustomed to being here just like we are. They are accustomed to going deep just like we are."
Lee County opens the Georgia High School Association state baseball playoffs Friday with a doubleheader at 5:00 p.m. at Trojan Field.
If game three is needed, is 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
